KCFRT can confirm that they will be hosting a further 2 Screening Days in 2018 for “young adults” between the ages of 14 and 35 years old.
This is our 3rd year providing free cardiac screening for Knutsford and surrounding community residents.
Our inaugural Screening was held in October 2016, where 104 young adults were screened at Knutsford Methodist Church.
2 further Screening Days were held in 2017, in March and September, when a further 203 were screened by the C-R-Y Team.
With each Screening Day requiring KCFRT to raise in excess of £5,000, by a combination of our Fundraising Events and local donations, we had only secured sufficient funds to commit to a first Screening Day until last week.
The first free Cardiac Screening is being held at The Knutsford Academy School on Tuesday, 27th March 2018, for students at the Academy aged 14 years and older:
Our second 2018 Screening Day, planned for Saturday, 3rd November 2018, for all local residents to be held again at the Knutsford Methodist Church, had been in doubt as we needed to raise a further £7,500!
I’m now delighted to announce that, following the article in last weeks Knutsford Guardian about KCFRT needing a local sponsor for the event, we have secured the necessary funding courtesy of the “Aaron James Dixon Memorial Fund” and we are able to confirm our 2nd Screening Day as Saturday, 3rd November 2018!
I’m sure you would all like to join us to thank Deborah Dixon, whose son Aaron died of sudden cardiac arrest 3 years ago and who has since worked tirelessly to raise funds in his memory for Cardiac Screening’s all over the UK, for her most generous donation to fund Knutsford’s public Cardiac Screening in November of this year.
